The quality in the superior education and social intergenerational mobility in Peru during the period 2010-24

Resumen

This research analyzes how the quality of the superior education had influenced in the social intergenerational mobility in Peru between 2010 and 2024. For this ending, the education quality is studied through four main dimensions: the access to the superior education, the relevance of the formation regarding to the labor market, the mechanisms of institutional quality assurance and the availability of resources destined to research and innovation. Likewise, with information of data panel at departmental level, there were estimated different effects: first, the impact of these four dimensions about the intergenerational social mobility; second, how the mentioned impact varied since the entry into force of the University Law; third, the differences in the effects among departments with greater and lower levels of economic development; and finally, how these differences were modified after the implementation of the University Law.
